Tahoe, immersion and Wall.E

Last weekend, we headed up to South Lake Tahoe for Carlos’ birthday… 3 days filled with:

  • geese & duckies
  • slot machine savants from Arkansas
  • hot tubbin’ on the roof
  • pancakes by Batter Blaster
  • bottles bottles everywhere
  • ping pong in the garage
  • John Hughes movies
  • dominating at Scene It
  • winning streaks at the blackjack tables
  • sledding
  • fake tattoos
  • really sad attempts at bowling
  • drunken hilarity
  • snow snow & more snow

Work has been keeping me pretty busy, which is great. Its refreshing to actually want to wake up and go to work every day, rather than dreading it. They are sending me out to Boston for orientation in March, will be a lot of fun..

I recently took the plunge into smartphone-land, and its a lot of fun. You’ll definitely be seeing more mobile updates from me via Twitter & Tumblr.

Here are some other things that have been floating my boat:

  • Experientia – a British usability blog
  • LOST – I’m jazzed about the new season, the twists and turns are never-ending
  • Wall.E – awkward robot finds love and saves the world? June 27 can’t come fast enough
  • Valleywag – the juiciest Bay Area tech gossip
  • Beguine – Cuban folk as interpreted by the Creole and French airs of Martinique
  • Olivia’s new art project, which celebrates landmark Oakland signage
