Spring, etc.

Spring is here, and we’ve been busy little bees… Olivia with her birdy paintings and design work for the SF Opera, and me with work stuff, volleyball, planning the House Of Shields Centennial and laying about watching the Warriors win and/or lose by very close margins.

Work has been particularly fun and fascinating. I wrote an internal blog post that strung together a chapter on wayfinding from Ambient Findability with Olivia’s typography map of San Francisco… and soon I’ll be giving a talk on the information challenges facing today’s libraries. I’ll try to post some of it here, in some form or fashion (Google Docs, maybe?). For now, please enjoy the view of SOMA from my office balcony (above)!

We made a visit to the Bay Area Discovery Museum for my cousin’s birthday. Really cute kids were running all over the place… they have a miniature Golden Gate Bridge, and a sequoia trunk you can crawl through (I could almost fit inside). Also got to meet some of my cousins who live in Mexico City.
Kind of bummed that I’ve been neglecting my mp3 blog. Its not that I haven’t come across some great music (been listening to a lot of Beach House, The Frames and Rogue Wave), its just that I haven’t had time for “extraneous” blogging – I’ve mostly been sticking to Twitter and the Free Table. I never got much traffic on the mp3 blog anyway, so…. feh. I just feel like I’ve got blog ADD. I suppose I should consider consolidating RSS feeds from all my various platforms and merge them into one all-powerful, Voltron-like blog. This idea is starting to look like this cartoon from Toothpaste For Dinner:
