Cazadero and birdies

We took our Memorial Day weekender early this year, and escaped to back to that cabin in the redwoods at Cazadero to avoid the record “heat” in SF. Spent most of our time eating, bird watching, and napping. Visited the Korbel winery, which was surprisingly educational and fun. We half expected to see a 7 Eleven in the parking lot. Skipped some rocks across the Russian River. Rest of the photos are here.
Speaking of birds, Olivia will be selling some of her lovely little bird paintings for one day only as part of the anniversary party for Issues, our beloved neighborhood newstand/art center.
She is really nervous about selling them in public (and will actually be in Cleveland). They are stunning, precious pieces… and priced waaaay below what they are worth (cheep, you might say). You can preview them here.
The party is this Sunday, June 1 from noon to six. The paintings won’t last long, so get there early!
Other things that have been going on:
- had a DJ night at KOKO. Went really well – they asked me to do a monthly thing
- super busy at work
- nearly finished with my portfolio, looking to submit it to AAU by the end of the month
- my nephew went fishing with the Saints
- Myrna sleeps in the laundry basket a lot
